Hi Guys, last time my gearbox got a bit juddery it was solved with a good dose of silicone lubrication into the clutch actuator.
This time it came to a halt (EML illuminated) and got itself stuck in neutral. It won't even engage a gear, and sometimes when trying, it drags the engine down to a stall. Had to call the AA cos it was going nowhere. The guy put his code reader on it and he got 4 fault codes. These were :-.
P1710 Signal: Vehicle Speed
Signal: implausible / out of range
P1830 Unknown fault
P1825 Unknown fault
P1705 Unknown fault
Can anyone shed any light on what the unknowns are, or point me in the right direction to get a list of codes for for the CZ2 AMT. Although this fault seems different to last time, I will still try the silicone lubricant on the clutch actuator again. But, in case that doesn't work I really could do with the fault codes deciphering.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi all, found fault codes P1710 Vehicle Speed Implausible/out of range. P1830 K/D Servo Switch. P1825 Gearbox EEPROM (ECU). P1705 Shift Actuator.
Mitsubishi are quoting up to £3000. Apparently they start by replacing clutch, then clutch actuator and probably gear actuator (because they both usually fail together). Costs include MUT diagnostics (which cannot accurately pinpoint the fault) and resetting everything using same machine.
I said that the car (in otherwise great condition at 42k) would have to be scrapped at that cost, the reply was, "there are cars younger than yours that have been scrapped for similar reasons". That must make Mitsubishi the least green cars on the planet.

Peugeot uses Peugeot Planet 2000, but on their forums there are guys up and down the country that own them and charge a small fee for a diagnostic, or a reset. Are there any peeps out there that own MUT machines doing the same?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car is in really good condition, it would be heartbreaking to send it to the scrapyard.

Message to the Mods: If their is a better place on the forum to find out this info, would you please move it. Thank you.

Ouch, that's a shame! There probably are people, but I don't personally know any.

The problem is on here, the forums are really quiet these days, you'd be better off speaking on the Facebook group, generally seem to be more action on there.

Thanks for the reply FishY, but don't do Facebook. Will have a word with my daughter though, she does.

I think it is time the Government stepped in on these manufacturers scams.

Been talking to a gearbox specialist company in Leeds, they say this is a common thing with many manufacturers now. They all seem to have their own style of so called efficient green Automated Manual Transmission. Ford has Powershift, VW group have DSG, Mitsubishi the AMT etc etc, and they all guard their diagnostic programmes jealously. This means no one else can access their computerised protocols (fair enough) but it also means they can massively overcharge, making the cost of repair prohibitive after the car is 6, 7 or 8 years old.
They are not bothered if it gets scrapped because the owner will be buying another car, even if it's not one of theirs. People will move around the manufacturers, so a disgruntled Ford man may buy a Mitsubishi.
It's a blatant con, people think they are doing their bit for the planet by buying them, only to get shafted further down the line.

I will keep going and get some help with Facebook .
Many thanks.
