I have a Colt CZC 2 registered 07 the pasenger window only goes up and down in jerky movements when window up and down switch touched not smooth up and down as should be this means that also the quarter light window will not go up or down on the passenger side, which in turn means we can not lower the roof .... My husband is an electrical enginer and he thinks I say thinks as people on here will have better knowledge as we both say.... that the window relay is either a problem or the runners and its a safety device stopping the window freely moving....anyone had similar problems please ?

on my 2003 colt, i find the cable can Fray, jamming the motor, eventually my window got jammed and i had to cut the cable, and hold the damn thing up with a wire coat hanger. my advice would be just replace the window regulator, the whole thing should just come unbolted if things have not changed too much since the older models. its an easy 20 min job.

Agreed- most likely the regulator cable. Take off the door panel, lift the sheath and tack it up, reconnect & operate the switch and you'll probably see a stray cable strand at some point.

If it's not that, it'd likely be water in the motor causing the pinion/gears to slip.

take out the window regulator and just have a good look at it, not sure what it's like on the cz's but the ones ive had apart (renults and rovers/mgs) they are just a sissor lift type thing with nylon wheels which sit in an aluminium runner. sometimes they lock then then bend the aluminium runnors or push something slightly out of place. You should be able to tell pretty easilt how it operates then just manually slide the mechanism to see for resistance. Might just need some grease on a runner or a cable somewhere.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem with my wife's 08 Colt CZC (Passenger Window).

I will post a video shortly of the behaviour but its incredibly annoying.

It happened once before but then disappeared however has not started happening again.

A whole new regulator looks expensive http://mitsubishi-colt-czc.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/parts/detail/category=chassis/engine=63/part=3325 :(

Did you ever get to the bottom of what this problem was?

Thanks,

I have a colt czc2 convertible 08 with a passenger window that judders up
and down when using button and the window doesn't go right up when
i shut the door. Took it to main dealers £51.00 to diagnose faulty
window regulator. Now you should not have to buy the whole window
regulator( £450 plus vat ) as they. now can use only the faulty part, to fix £242.77
Hope this helps if you have the same problem.

Help please!
