Got a Colt CZ1 which has covered 53000 miles and the gearbox feels a bit clunky on reverse and second.
Gonna change the gearbox oil to Redline MT90,and cant find the gearbox filler hole, anybody any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

Usually the filler hole will be on the end of the gear box

Have you checked the linkages for play? Seems a more obvious bet to me on such a new car.

Dont go wasting your money on Redline Oil Bud. Its not going to fix anything, the redline shock oil prevents your gears from wearing as quick under beatings. If they are crunching from wear its too late.

As Kev mentioned. have your Cables checked first ;)

At 15quid a quartz (around 1 liter) it isnt going to be cheap when you have bought 2.2 liters of the stuff. (2 bottles is around 1.8-1.9 Liters)

hope that helps

agree with barlow but for future reference the filler hole is a bit of a pig to get at. its above the diff on the gearbox. you need to get your hand between the driveshaft and subframe at the rear. its also an hex bolt, 8mm? if memory serves me right.

Hi guys, anyone out there got any advice on what could be causing my gearbox to become stiff as hell, even when driving?. It's fine in 2nd and 3rd, but when you try and go into 1st, reverse and now into 5th it is really stiff. Any ideas???. If it's a new gearbox, is that a big job?. Is it expensive?. Oh, it's a Mitsubishi Colt 'Black'. 55 plate.
